Welcoming a newborn is an incredibly special time, and your baby’s first photoshoot should be a beautiful, stress-free experience. At eStudio ViCa, we take care of every detail so you can relax and enjoy the moment. Here’s what you can expect before, during, and after your session, with answers to the most common questions parents ask us.

1. Before the Shoot: Booking & Preparation

Once you’ve booked your session, there’s no need to worry about remembering your due date, we’ll contact you 2–3 weeks prior to your estimated delivery to confirm or adjust the schedule as needed.

We’ll also guide you on:

  • What to wear for a soft, elegant look that matches our studio aesthetic

  • What to bring for baby and siblings

  • Special outfit planning (e.g. heirloom clothes or gifts) for possible use at the end of the session

2. During the Shoot: Baby-Led & Family-Friendly

Our studio in Kallang is thoughtfully equipped for a smooth, comfortable session:

  • Temperature-controlled space

  • Designated nursing and diaper changing area

  • Ruhens warm water dispenser and milk warmer

  • Clean changing mats (replaced after every use)

  • Sanitized wraps, props, and newborn outfits

  • A small play area for siblings to stay entertained

During the session:

  • Baby will be gently wrapped in colours that match your family’s chosen outfits.

  • If siblings are joining, we usually start with warm-up shots of the baby, then gently introduce sibling interaction to assess their mood and the baby's condition.

  • Depending on their readiness, we’ll decide whether to begin with sibling or full family portraits or baby in wrap shoot.

  • After their part is done, siblings can relax and enjoy playtime while the session continues.

  • Family poses are carefully directed for safe, elegant compositions.

And don’t worry if baby cries!

Crying is completely normal. Our sessions are baby-led, your baby sets the pace. We take breaks as needed for feeds, cuddles, or settling, and our team is always ready to help soothe and comfort your little one so you can enjoy the experience with peace of mind.

3. After the Shoot: Selection & Delivery

Within one week after your session, we carefully filter the images and apply initial colour and contrast adjustments. We then provide you with watermarked previews so you can select your favourite shots for final professional editing.

Our detailed editing process takes about 6-8 working weeks. We take this time to ensure the highest quality, polished images that truly capture your baby’s precious moments.

If you need photos urgently, for example, to celebrate your baby’s full month, we’re happy to prioritize editing 2-3 images for you.

You’ll receive:

  • Beautifully retouched, full size high-resolution digital images.

  • Optional printed keepsakes such as albums and wall art, arranged through trusted vendors.

  • If you love all the photos and wish to have the complete collection, you can also opt to get all the original images in full size resolution from your session.

💬 Common Client Questions (Q&A)

Q: What’s the best age for a newborn shoot?

A: For natural birth, we recommend 5–14 days old. For C-section, 14–30 days is ideal. Babies are still very sleepy and flexible at this stage, which helps achieve those classic, curled-up poses.

Q: I’m worried I’ll forget to contact you once baby is here!

A: No worries! We’ll reach out to you around 2–3 weeks before your due date to check in and plan the shoot. You’re never on your own.

Q: What if my baby has flaky skin, baby acne, or cries during the shoot?

A: All totally normal! Our editing includes gentle skin retouching. And if baby cries or needs extra time, we will adjust. The shoot is fully baby-led.

Q: Can siblings join? Will they need to stay the whole time?

A: Yes, siblings are welcome! We usually photograph them first so they can rest or leave afterward with another caregiver if needed.

Q: Do I need to prepare outfits for my baby?

A: No need! We have a wide range of wraps and props. If you’d like to bring a special outfit, we can photograph it at the end, depending on baby’s and sibling’s mood.

Q: Are the wraps, props, and outfits clean and safe for my baby?

A: Absolutely. Your baby’s safety and hygiene are top priorities. Every wrap, outfit, and prop used in our studio is thoroughly washed and sanitized. We store them in a dedicated UV-sanitized cabinet to ensure they're fresh, clean, and safe for each baby.

Q: Do you provide milk or diapers?

A: While we don’t supply formula or diapers, we provide a warm water dispenser and milk warmer for easy feeding, plus a clean diaper changing setup.

Q: Can grandparents join the photoshoot?

A: Yes, grandparents are welcome to join in the session to create those special multigenerational memories! Do note that there will be a small additional fee for extended family members, as we’ll need to allocate extra time for everyone comfortably.
