Welcoming your baby into the world is a moment unlike any other. As parents, you’ll want to preserve these fleeting, tender days in the most beautiful and timeless way. At eStudio ViCa, we recommend scheduling your newborn photoshoot within 5 to 14 days after birth—and here’s why this window is so special.

1. Baby Is Sleepier and More Curled Up

During the first two weeks of life, babies tend to sleep deeply and often, making it easier to gently pose them without disrupting their comfort. Their bodies are also naturally curled from being in the womb, which allows us to safely position them into those adorable, womb-like poses that define classic newborn photography.

2. Fewer Skin Imperfections

In the early days, your baby’s skin is usually smoother with fewer signs of baby acne, flakiness, or colic discomfort that can sometimes appear after the second or third week. Capturing your little one during this time means cleaner, softer portraits that highlight their pure, newborn glow.

3. A Calmer, More Predictable Session

You’re still in the early rhythm of feeding and naps during this period, which usually allows for a calmer and more predictable session. With our baby-led approach, we work around your baby's natural cues and needs, allowing for breaks, feeds, and cuddles as needed.

4. Timeless, Heirloom Imagery

Our goal is to create not just photos, but memories you’ll treasure forever. The early newborn stage is fleeting, and photographing your baby during this magical window allows us to freeze those moments in beautifully styled, soft and elegant images that last a lifetime.

5. Capture Their First Look Before It Changes

Newborns grow and change incredibly fast, sometimes even within days. Those tiny facial features, sleepy smiles, and fresh newborn expressions are unique to the first couple of weeks. Capturing them early helps preserve the memory of how your baby looked in their very first days, something that quickly fades as they grow.

What If I Had a C-Section or Missed the 14-Day Window?

We completely understand that every birth journey is different. If you’ve had a C-section, we recommend scheduling your newborn session between 14 days to 1 month old. This gives you more time to recover while still capturing your baby’s early charm.

While babies may be more alert and less curly after the first two weeks, we will still capture beautiful, heartfelt portraits with a gentle, baby-led approach. Every stage holds its own magic and we’re here to preserve it for you.

Plan Ahead and Enjoy Early Bird Perks

We recommend booking your newborn session during your second or early third trimester to secure your preferred timing. For parents who book at least 2 months in advance, we also offer special early bird perks, because planning ahead should come with a little bonus!
